Buffalo Wings - We need more!

I love Buffalo Chicken wings, legs, whatever. They can even be boneless for all I care. I know there are some restaurants that sell them, BUT, one must make a significant investment of time in addition to money, to get them.

Buffalo Chicken could potentially be the next best convenience food. Look, Slimjim© has no Buffalo flavored snacks as far as I could see, navigating around in their weird environment was pretty and reminiscent of the days when Randy Savage was the spokesman.

Since gas prices are all the same throughout Springfield, the only competitive advantage is the availability of snacks.

Now comes the brand new Qwik-n-EZ gas station at the end of Wabash before the Interstate 72 exit. It has the largest interior I've seen in a very long time and a lot of long-term planning appears invested in its construction. The location appears to be prepared to handle at least three times the current traffic along Wabash to the exit, however, that stupid intersection traffic signal at Archer Elevator road and Wabash takes forever to change during the day.

I was on Archer Elevator Road waiting to turn west on Wabash to get on the Interstate. I was stuck behind someone for so long that people behind me were honking their horns. Luckily I left enough space behind the car in front of me that I could turn into the opposite lane, back up then turn the opposite direction.

I then turned east on the road next to the Qwik-n-EZ, drove all the way down to the Green Auto dealership, turned right on Meadowbrook, then turned right again, and as I passed Archer Elevator Road heading west on Wabash, all the cars were still there sitting at the red light that still hadn't changed. I honked as I drove by them, hoping especially that the drivers who honked while I was sitting there heard my horn as I passed them on my merry way.

At night it's a different story. If you see a lot of cars waiting to turn west on Wabsh, HPR Road goes all the way to Hamlin Parkway and you may still get to turn west without delay.

Back to Buffalo Wings. Buffalo Wild Wings is right across Wabash from the Qwik-n-EZ but it's a restaurant, and you need to invest some time to get the wings. On the other hand, it's impossible to drive and eat hot wings. If the Qwik-n-EZ found a way to harness the power of the hot wing and have them ready all the time, they have an amazing advantage over their competitors.

Oh, and with Slimjim, watch out for that Garlic flavor. If you don't throw out the package after eating it, it will stink up your whole car, luckily, it doesn't linger.
